#182 glass is commonly known as “onion” glass, but did you know? The onion-shaped glass is actually a later design. Early 182 glass resembles a spade from playing cards, with a wider top and a narrower bottom, differing from the round shape of the onion style. This type of glass was mostly used in “pre-war” table lamps, and based on historical documentation and photos, this design was the standard. It is presumed that most lamps before 1940 used this glass. Top opening size: 85mm, made of heat-resistant glass, suitable for KiteLamp and Tilley.
