In the past, aside from buying lamps from abroad, I often bought just the oil tank without the upper parts like the fuel pipe and burner. I also had the experience of group-buying fixing rings from overseas with fellow lamp enthusiasts.
However, after that one group-buying experience, I lost interest. Some of the fixing rings I received were deformed or separated. The group leader kindly let everyone pick first, but in the end, they were left with the problematic rings.
That experience was very unpleasant, which led me to decide to make this part myself, proving once again that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Function: A part used to secure the glass and burner, it reduces the effect of air turbulence. The spring is made of Japanese 301 stainless steel, and the screws are interchangeable with Tilley originals.
